Can I lose my identity in Christ?
No — your true identity cannot be lost, only eclipsed. Fear, guilt, and shame can move in front of who you really are and block the view, the way the moon blocks the sun. But an eclipse never destroys the sun. It only hides it for a while.
What feels like losing your identity is almost always believing a false one. Fear says you are what might happen to you. Guilt says you are what you did. Shame says you are what is wrong with you. They feel true. Feeling true and being true are not the same thing.
"Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:38–39
Anything: your worst day, your longest silence, your oldest habit. The way back into the light is not trying harder — it is telling the truth. Bring the false name to God, say it out loud, and ask Him for the real one. Truth always sets you free. Hiding it is what keeps you in the dark.
